Description

Are you looking for something a bit out of the ordinary? If like many you’ve experienced that big is not always better in racing. If you’ve dreamt of a boutique stable with a trainer caring for less than 10 horses that can give your galloper the time, consideration and attention it deserves; then racing this filly could be for you. Often when racing in a smaller stable you may have trading size for experience but you will not find a better quality trainer than Paul Jenkins. This quietly spoken Kiwi has already trained multiple Group 1 winners on Australian soil and is currently striking at 20% winners to runners.

Paul went back to New Zealand looking for some quality bloodstock supplied by vendors he trusts, from families he knows that have been raised in some of the finest pastures in the world to develop a quality and sound racehorse. We are excited to be offering shares in this filly for those of you who are up for displaying a bit of patience with a view to developing a nice staying type. She embodies everything that makes New Zealand the powerhouse at producing quality stamina. She is by four time Group One winner (VRC Derby, Australia Cup and BMW) and Champion Australian Stayer, Preferment. At stud Preferment’s progeny have been described as having many simular characteristic of his champion sire Zabeel who produced an incredible 47 Group one winners.

Rave Review’s family is bred in the purple and was developed by the Duchess of Bedford whom Paul used to train for. He knows the family well, he trained Rave Review along with her Stakes placed half-sisters Ididit and Like the Wind while based in New Zealand. Rave Review is by Breeders Cup Mile and July Cup winner Royal Academy who is the grandsire of Black Caviar and the dam sire of Fastnet Rock, Rare Review has already produced multiple Stakes placegetter Fire Jet. With a page full of black-type and the third dam being a half-sister to Nassipour (the Sire of greats such as Let’s Elope and Tie the Knot) we have no doubt she’ll be a valuable breeding proposition if successful on the track.

This filly will  she will remain in New Zealand to enjoy developing through their ideal Summer and Autumn before flying to Queensland in April/May to enjoy the best place in Australia to have a horse in Winter when she will start her education. You can check her out in this video here.

We think this filly ticks all the boxes. A first season sire with great potential, a dam line that is full of black type and contain sires that have been a quality source of stamina, a multiple Group 1 winning trainer working from the Sunshine Coast Turf Club; the same facilities that produced Australian Guineas winner Alligator Blood.
