BAHRAM TRAINING COMPLEX
Our horses are pre-trained in the idyllic setting of Bahram Training Complex near Toowoomba.
More than $8 million has been invested in providing immaculate training tracks and equipment at Bahram. The 80-plus stables at Bahram are all oversized with scope for the horses to move between open-air and undercover enclosures.
Bahram Training Facilities boasts:
- 1500m river sand track
- 1400m inside grass track
- 10-horse walking machines
- Water walker
- Treadmill
- Private barriers
Pre-training is managed by Bernie Lowe, a very competent and hands-on horsewoman who for the past 20 years has spent time with some of Queensland’s most experienced trainers. She has been providing our youngsters with foundational fitness and delivering them to our trainers in terrific order for many years, and she is always happy to provide us with updates on how our horses are progressing.
Our talented breaker, Jake Capewell, also works out of Bahram. Jake has years of horse-breaking experience under his belt, and his calm, steady approach to breaking in our babies is focused on getting to know each horse’s individual personality and putting the work into getting them relaxed and focused on the job at hand. None of Jake’s youngsters are rushed in the breaking process – he goes as quickly or slowly as they need, with breaks in between education sessions to ensure the lessons sink in and the horse isn’t stressed. Jake provides video updates along with thoughtful and informative audios throughout the breaking in process for all our yearlings.
Adrenaline organises field-trips to Bahram and we encourage our owners to take in the country air with a trip out west when their horse is pre-training.
